The Municipality of Capriasca was founded in 2001 by the merger of the Municipalities of Cagiallo, Lopagno, Roveredo TI, Sala Capriasca, Tesserete and Vaglio. In 2008, the Municipalities of Bidogno, Corticiasca and Lugaggia were also aggregated.
