The "Dominican Missionaries of the Holy Family" is a Congregation belonging to the family of the "Order of Preachers" whose founder was Santo Domingo de Guzmán. From him and his followers, specifically in the Canary Islands Father Cueto (1892-1910) and Mother Pilar, our founders, comes the spirituality that animates the educational mission of our Congregation.
Domingo de Guzmán was born in Caleruega (Burgos) in 1170 and received a "Prophetic Gift" that prompted him to give concrete answers to the crisis situations that the Church and the society of his time lived. He had a clear awareness that man, in order to reach his full personal fulfillment and thus be a true agent of change, must possess a deep zeal for the search for truth through contemplation and permanent study. The motto that sustains in the formation of his order for the service of the Church is: "Contemplate aliis tradere", COMTEMPLATE AND GIVE THE CONTEMPLATED.
