What is Axie Infinity?
Axie Infinity is a decentralized game created by the Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis. Users breed and collect Axie creatures. One of the sources of inspiration for the project was the Poke franchise, but the mechanics in Axie Infinity game are still different.
Each axie undergoes a kind of evolution, from an egg to a full-fledged adult. The gameplay consists of three main elements:
- breeding creatures: raising eggs and crossing adult axi to produce new ones;
- battles with other players: each axie has its own characteristics and abilities that can be used in battle. Battles here take place in turn-based mode and resemble card battlers;
- axie trading: users can trade their creatures on the trading floor. You can sell both adult creatures and the eggs themselves. Players can also give each other gifts and buy in-game land.
How are Axie Infinity and AXS connected?
All major transactions within Axie Infinity game are done with special AXS tokens. In Axie Infinity game, new players don't get a starter set of creatures - they have to buy them on the trading floor for money. Essentially, each Axie is a separate NFT, the ownership of which is assigned to the user.
Axie Infinity Economics
The developers of Axie Infinity game do not get all of the money from selling axis on the trading floor. Instead, the tokens are distributed to players and accumulated in a special treasury, which is the basis of the in-game economy. In this way, Axie Infinity has formed its own economy, built around the "play to earn" principle. By this characteristic, it falls under the definition of a meta-universe, and the developers intend to develop the project in this direction.

Depending on your MMR (player selection rank) in the Axie Infinitty arena, you will earn a different amount of SLP for each victory in the arena. The higher your rank, the more rewards you will receive for winning. Note that this is an average based on calculations from the Axie Infinty community.
