Rogue Orb is a retro roguelike dungeon crawler inspired from a 1988 RPG game created by Edward Joyce. This remake reflects the original and pays homage to that game.
The objective is simple; find the orb on the levels below and bring it back to the exit stairs.
Features include...
• Four playable characters (cleric, fighter, thief and wizard)
• Retro style graphics (reflecting the original game)
• Hall of fame (share / gloat your top characters with friends)
• Random generated maps and monsters
• Extremely difficult (roguelike with permadeath), very rewarding to complete!

Never played the original so I am commenting based solely on my experience with this game. Simple mechanics, clean interface, great single hand control, I actually love the controls being on top so that you wont accidentally press a button with your palm. Very easy to get into unlike most other roguelikes, so if you are looking for a coffeebreak type roguelike here you go. Great time killer, love the simple retro look to it. Thank you for bringing this game to me.

Uninteresting. Needs items, hunger, monster variety, room movement, commands, fog, and no stair return to be Rogue-like. Spelling error (rouge) at start, adspace on screen is constant, level layout mind-numbing. Gave 2nd star for claim of having played original Rogue, but it doesn't show in this. The search for a great authentic mobile Rogue continues...

Too simple. You can die by the first room you step into for over and over. And nothing can change that beside your luck. No inventory, no items, no equip.

Hi Aljabar, thanks for taking the time to rate and review, it's appreciated. Yes, it's extremely hard at the start - exactly like the original game. There are items (see lore), but these are found in lower dungeons. Luck is definitely an important factor, but there are strategies for each character that you can adopt to improve your chances!
