Good concept but it is very buggy. Sometimes I am kicked out of my studio for no reason and it also just freezes up for no reason. Better than before, where I could not even log in. Edit: the new update is amazing. The app is optimized so now there's no lag, which was a huge issue. But the level up system is way too grindy. To get to the next level, you have to get more xp than all levels before it combined, which takes forever.

The core concept is solid, and it is a great way to meet other musicians, but the app itself is slow and buggy as hell. Constant freezing; crashing; transitions that fade to white and then never show the UI; hiding ststem UI until you try to interact then showing the system UI and moving every UI element when you tap; it has even crashed Android itself many times. The list of issues goes on and on, and the devs show no interest in fixing anything.

Love this app for my son so much!! He has improved tremendously because of it. Unfortunately, the reward challenges appear to allow people to abuse the system very often. During challenges, the leaderboard invidual xp acrued in one day is simply not possible. There are listeners who play recordings and block interactions by making themselves "focused". Even though you can report people, it's tough to track down everyone that is hacking the system. It's sad to see but we still love Tonic!
