The late Sheikh Ja'afar Mahmud Adam was born in Daura, in the year 1962 (although he sometimes says 1964).
The late Sheikh Ja'afar began his studies of Allah in his home, at the home of his sister's husband, Malam Haruna, who was also their blood relative.
He was then sent to a Malam Umaru in Koza, about 9km north of Daura, with whom he was also related by blood, which was the reason for his coming to Kano. After they came to Kano with this teacher, in 1971 (or 1972), they stayed at the school of Malam Abdullahi, a man from the Republic of Niger, but who lived in the Fagge area of Kano.
