The visualization of the position of trains of S-Bahn Stuttgart on the new live timetable is based on real-time data from the DB Travel Information System (RIS). To display the position on the map, the position reports of the trains are collected at selected signal locations and extrapolated therebetween. It is currently not yet a GPS location. If there is currently no current data, the line symbols are displayed in gray - more information such as a train loss is then available in the details of the train.
On the basis of the timetable data from DB's electronic travel information, the departure times, the tracks and the respective destinations can be displayed beyond the positioning of the trains. In addition, all information available for this train (reasons for delays, changed routes and train cancellations) can be seen via the "details" of a train.
You can now see the regional trains in the network of the S-Bahn. In addition, you will also see disturbance reports on major disruptions in the Punctuality Survey. You will also see in the map where there are malfunction reports. The alarm function for your train will be given more options to get more specific information.
