The #Stay Healthy mobile application is a tool that notifies you if you have been in contact with an infected person. By using it and following the recommendations, each of us helps to control the spread of the virus and protect the health of ourselves, our loved ones and the entire society.
The #Stay Healthy application helps contain and control the spread of infections with the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), reduces the burden on the health system and thus enables the country to control the virus with milder measures.
The #Stay Healthy application warns us that we have been in contact with an infected person, so there is a greater risk that we ourselves have become infected. Thus, immediately after the warning we receive from the mobile application, we become even more responsible in our behavior: we observe our well-being and contact our personal doctor at the first detection of symptoms, we avoid non-essential contact with other people, especially vulnerable individuals and we implement preventive measures even more consistently (hand and cough hygiene, wearing masks and adequate interpersonal distance).
By using the mobile application, we act responsibly towards ourselves and others, while at the same time helping to control the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infections. The application will greatly facilitate the notification of those individuals who have been in contact with an infected person in the last 14 days. Epidemiological inquiries cannot identify all contacts, for example all passengers on public transport or all visitors who were in a restaurant at the same time as someone infected with SARS-CoV-2.
VOLUNTARY AND FREE TO USE
We install the #Stay Healthy application on our smartphone completely voluntarily and free of charge. After installation, we will be quickly and reliably informed about meetings with users of the application in which infection with SARS-CoV-2 has been confirmed and therefore pose a risk of possible transmission of the virus infection to us as well. The application does not reveal either the location or the identity of the infected person, it only reports that two people have met. We can disable the features of the app or delete the app entirely at any time. This will also delete any information that the app has saved.
Even those who are confirmed to be infected share this information with other users completely voluntarily (they get a special ten-digit code, which they then enter into the application themselves). This reinforces your responsible behavior.
EFFECTIVENESS OF THE APPLICATION
The #Stay Healthy application will achieve its purpose if we install it on our mobile phone before we get sick. This is the only way that the people we had contact with before we learned about the infection will be informed and will be able to take self-protective measures in time.
The #Stay Healthy application was prepared by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) and the Ministry of Public Administration (MJU), whereby NIJZ takes care of the content part of the application, and MJU takes care of the technical part. Both of them are joint controllers of the data processed within the #Stay Healthy application. The application is intended for use in Slovenia.
