The Austrian app for the Green Passport enables EU-compliant SARS-CoV-2 certificates from Austria to be stored securely on the mobile phone and makes it easier to present them when 3-G proof is checked and in international travel. The Austrian Federal Computing Center (BRZ) operates the app on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection (BMSGPK).
The Covid-19 certificate in Austria:
SARS-CoV-2 certificates are issued in Austria in paper or electronic form (PDF) and serve as 3-G proof (vaccinated, recovered, tested). You can find out how to get your SARS-CoV-2 certificate at https://www.gruenerpass.gv.at/. To add a SARS-CoV-2 certificate to the Green Passport app, you need the original certificate issued to you on paper or as a PDF document.
In just a few steps to the Green Passport on your smartphone:
- Scan the QR code on your SARS-CoV-2 certificate or
- add the SARS-CoV-2 certificate as a PDF directly to the app.
- Store your certificates for the 3-G proof digitally and securely
- Use the app to show the certificate (QR code) during an inspection
- Several certificates (e.g. for family members) can also be stored in this app.
Data protection is important to us:
- All data remain in the app and are never uploaded to external servers
- Your certificates are only stored locally on your smartphone. The data in your app is not stored in any central system.
- The certificates are protected by a digital signature and are therefore forgery-proof.
- In addition to the QR code, a photo ID is also required to verify the certificate.
