The need to explore the scientific treasure contained in the Qur'an responds to a growing need expressed by the new generations. The history of religions shows that the ancient peoples required their prophets to perform miracles and wonders to win their adhesion. The last two religions preceding Islam, Judaism and Christianity, resorted extensively to extraordinary manifestations in order to win followers.
In the absence of more convincing arguments, the method had the advantage of showing that the preachers were endowed with powers so amazing that they could emanate only from a deity. Handled with dexterity, such valuable gifts helped to convert crowds who were looking for obvious signs to rally. Moses and Jesus, like other prophets, were great miracle workers. This is attested both by the Old Testament and by the Gospels and confirmed by the Qur'an.
It would be wrong, however, to believe that the enthusiasm of the faithful should be attributed to the qualities of the inspired miracle-workers, whatever the gifts they attribute to themselves. For the communication of the authentic Divine Message has made it possible decisively to win over men and women to monotheistic religions, who advocate the existence of a Unique and Almighty God. The Holy Qur'an was only revealed when the Divine Message was forgotten, lost or altered by time and people. The Prophet Muhammed, the ultimate Messenger of God, that the salvation and blessing of Allah be upon him, was to restore the original purity of the divine Word and to ensure the triple seal of authenticity inalterability and durability.
This goal has been perfectly achieved. Fourteen centuries later, the Text of the Holy Qur'an remained unchanged, as it was originally revealed, rigorously and forever immutable. It is not fitting, indeed, that the ultimate commandments of Allah, the Lord of the universe, to humanity that were revealed to the last of the Messengers, may be corrupted or misled.
