My Garden is a book intended for learning to read. It is a valuable and effective instrument in the hands of educators and students in the teaching-learning process of reading, due to its simple, harmonious and progressive methodology.
In this way, learning is a pleasant and highly satisfying activity for the students since they themselves verify their daily progress.
When teaching reading with Mi Jardín, we must bear in mind the following recommendations:
1. I first teach the name of the five vowels.
2. The reading of the consonants must be associated with the vowels, never separated
3. It is convenient for the child to look at the drawings, since there is a close relationship between them, the phonemes, words and sentences
4. Do not move on to a new section without having properly learned the previous one. Excessive haste can hinder learning to read.
5. Establish some review techniques every few lessons. In this way, if the student shows confidence in what has been studied, she must continue advancing.
6. The study of some phonemes can present difficulties, for example, the combinations of the letters X, Y and the formation of diphthongs.
