A survey from 2014 has named Borussia Mönchengladbach the third most popular football club in Germany. The popularity comes not by chance: In the eternal table of the Bundesliga, the team from the Borussia Park ranks among the top ten teams in Germany. She won the German Championship five times, three times the DFB Cup and twice the Uefa Cup under great coaches like Hennes Weisweiler and Udo Lattek. Their style of play has made the Elf vom Niederrhein legendary. Thanks to the young, dynamic team in the 70s, the team is still called Fohlenelf. Players like Jupp Heynckes, Berti Vogts and Günter Netzer wrote history.
The club formed by the merger of two syndicates in 1900. The merger gave birth to the "Football Club Borussia 1900". The name Borussia comes from Latin and simply means Prussia.
